The CD3(A) multi-gas detector can be used in coal mines, mining operations, and other work environments to protect personnel from oxygen deficiency (O2) and excess oxygen, hazardous gas (methane CH4), and toxic carbon monoxide (CO). This instrument has been awarded the China Coal Safety Mark (MA).

The CD3(A) features a rugged, shock-, and flame-resistant housing, providing exceptional performance and durability in harsh environments. It is immune to radio frequency and electromagnetic interference. Its four-button interface allows for simple, intuitive operation and calibration, and a 5-second "delay" function prevents unexpected shutdown. Other standard features include vibrating and audible and visual alarms, a lithium-ion rechargeable battery, peak/hold readings, a large LCD display, and a dedicated protective leather case. An optional, compact integrated sampling pump enables remote sampling and testing up to 15 meters.
